In response, the National Association of Nonprofit Professionals (NANPP) has launched the Nonprofit Employee Emergency Fund as a source of relief for those who need it most. We hope to provide emergency financial support between $100 and $1,000 to nonprofit employees through online donations. Nonprofit employees (both members and nonmembers) who have been recently separated from employment due to the Coronavirus crisis and have no other, or limited, income to purchase food, pay their rent, insurance, mobile phone and/or utilities.
These grave challenges are calling the nonprofit community to action. We are not duplicating other efforts, but instead offering supplemental support to the broader relief efforts underway and to provide a light for nonprofit workers around the nation.
NANPP also calls on Congress to support the #Relief4Charities and allocate a portion of the economic stimulus package to nonprofits across the nation. Please contact your local representative.
We appreciate your help.
We hope to reach as many nonprofit workers in emergency need as possible.
We anticipate the first relief will be distributed during the week of April 20th and will continue until all funds are depleted.
